Effective coaches are always looking at ways in which they can improve  and Ashford Athletic Club is keen to support the development of our volunteer coaching workforce.  We currently has nine coaches who have been selected for the England Athletics Development Programme and Ashford AC coaches are often spotted leading and contributing to the Kent Athletics Development and Education Programme activities.

Below are a few sources of funding currently available to volunteer coaches to support their development needs.

Bursaries  once again available from the Kent Athletics Network to Ashford AC coaches wishing to obtain the England Athletics coaching awards. Ask the Ashford AC Head Coach for more details.

Kent Sport awards individuals scholarship funding to support coach development . The next round of applications open in March 2012.

Ashford AC also has funding available to assist with coach development  Funding has been awarded to our coaches for a range of development activities: the purchase of books, attending national and international coaching conferences and for the gaining of additional qualifications such as a Leadership in Running Fitness award and First Aid.  Ask the Ashford AC Head Coach for more details.
