Southern Athletics League

Ashford Athletic Club are pleased to announce that the Senior Mens and Womens Teams have entered a combined team into the newly formed Southern Athletics League. The league will involve 32 teams in 2 divisions (Ashford will be in Division 1) and consist of 5 matches across the season this dates are outlined below:

Saturday 30 April – Match 1 Ashford
Saturday 21 May – Match 2 Milton Keynes
Saturday 9 July – Match 3 Southampton
Saturday 30 July – Match 4 Harrow
Saturday 20 August – Match 5 Tonbridge
Saturday 17 Sept – BAL/UKWL qualifying match Abingdon

The new league offers us a really good chance of doing well with at least a top 5 finish. We also still have the chance to qualify for BAL qualifying match on Saturday 17th September so please ensure you put the date in your diary.

The match day timetable is also shorter with the day finishing at 4.30pm.

AAC Support for Student Athletes. The club has committed £500 towards student travel expenses to Southern Athletics league matches in order to encourage students studying away from Kent to travel to these matches. The club will refund reasonable expenses for either petrol costs or a normal train fare. Expenses needed to be agreed in advance with the team manager. If you want to know more ask your team manager.
