SEAA U15/U17 Championships 16th/17th August 2014

Ashford secured a gold and two bronze medals at the South of England U15/U17 track and field championships at Crystal Palace.


Jacqueline Benson took gold in the  U15 3000m with a personal best 20:54.04 and there were bronze medals for George Maher in the U15 pole vault with 3.10m and Emilie Knights-Toomer in the U15 javelin with 35.62m.


Ben Isaac just missed out on a medal finishing fifth in the U17 100m hurdles and Tyler Adams was sixth in the shot. Amelia Isaac made the final of the U15 75m hurdles.

Kevin Williams took the veterans 50 silver medal in the Kent 10k road championships staged in conjunction with the Deal Dinosaur 10k race clocking 37 minutes 34 seconds. This follows up his gold in the Kent 10 mile championship race at Sidcup.


Debbie Martin becomes England Under 23 champion!

Ashford’s star high jumper Debbie Martin became the England Under 23 champion at Bedford with a fine clearance of 1.75m.
It was shy of her personal best 1.80m cleared earlier this month in winning the SEAA U23 championships at Crystal Palace but she is now in the top 10 high jumpers in the country and fourth in the U23 rankings.
