Spring Road Relays

Posted: 29th Apr 2018 by Lewis Smith

Spring is here, the evenings are brighter, the floodlights are off at the track and the buds are bursting. This means the spring road relays are here again. The following dates and locations have been confirmed for this season (below). This event is a great chance to have fun and compete against other athletic and road running clubs. They provide a rare chance for distance athletes to compete in a team format.

All relays are held on a Tuesday evening in East Kent, from 18:30-20:00. The relay teams are a mix of all ages, anywhere from athletes aged 10+ years to veteran athletes, and is open to all abilities. Relay legs normally range from 3.5km - 4.5km, and are run in teams of three ladies or four men. The Club is looking for new and existing athletes to join in this season, and to get as many athletes out as we can to show the Club's strength in its distance department.

Athletes will need a Club vest, a £2 entrance fee and a readiness for fun. For athletes who have upcoming exams or children with upcoming exams, we do understand the importance of study, but also understand the importance of occasionally having fun. These relays are great for this as you can commit to as many or as few as you like. If, as a parent, you are 'taxi' for the evening. Why not go out for a run and enjoy the evening as well?

If you are interested in running any of the below relays, then please email Matthew Hogben (Matthewhogben@yahoo.co.uk), or Gerard (Doc) O'Sullivan (Thedocatashfordac@yahoo.co.uk).
