Ashford 10k

Givaudan Ashford 10K 11TH OCTOBER 2026

After a sellout race in 2025, the entry portal for the 2026 Race is already Open here

This race was first held 40 years ago in 1986. It was called the "Julie Rose 10 K Road Race &Fun Run". Following the death of Julie Rose an Ashford AC International Athlete in November 1985, a Julie Rose Memorial Fund was launched to kick start fundraising for the first all weather running track in Central and East Kent. This was to become the Home of Ashford AC.

Below you will find pages from the very first 10k schedule, with details of those involved in the organisation, and some noteable names as entries. A little history of why this track, and the race is so important to Ashford AC.

Help us celebrate 40 years of the race that was started, to build an Athletics Track in Ashford. It is very fitting that the race now starts and finishes at the Julie Rose Athletics Stadium.

Over the years we have had various sponsors  for this event ,to enable us to continue to provide various athletic disciplines to all our members, and our sincere thanks as always go to Givaudan for their continued support for this race and Ashford AC. It enables us to continue to provide athletic experiences to as many aspiring athletes as possible. All this takes place at the Julie Rose Stadium managed by Freedom Leisure..

An event such as this takes a tremendous amount of organisation behind the scenes, both on the day and leading up to the event, working with several race partners. Special thanks go to Sporting Events UK and team, who organise the race on our behalf. Thankyou to our own band of Volunteer Marshalls, without whom we would not be able to run the race. Sporting Events  provide Marshalls at the main junctions on the course, but that still leaves many side roads and small junctions to be marshalled. In all over 100 Marshalls are needed to make this race a secure event, so please make sure you keep Sunday October 11th 2026 clear in your diary, so that we can call on you for help as a Marshall in our 40th Year!!! . Thankyou to all the team at JRS and Freedom Leisure  , enableing us to use our home track for the start and finish of this amazing event.

Thankyou also goes to Pod Plus for providing massage where needed, and the the obligatory baggage drop to keep your items secure.
