ASHFORD AC’s youngsters were in golden form in the Kent Sportshall championships at Tonbridge returning with a clutch of medals.
There were three championship records for Oliver Williams in the Under 13 boys in his four gold haul.
Oliver won the standing long jump with a championship best 2.48m and then recorded a best of 7.82m in the standing triple jump.
Another record came in the two lap race with 21.4 holding off teammate Ben Isaac with 23.8. Ben was also third in the long jump and triple jump.
Williams also took gold in the shot with a splendid 10.08m.
Alex Lynch was second in the speed bounce along with Daniel Steadman, both with 77 just one behind the winner, with Alex also third in the vertical jump.
Daniel was third in the six lap race and Kieran Regan third in the four lap race.
In the Under 15 girls there were two double golds with victories for Caitlin Dock and Abigail Purkis.
Caitlin led an Ashford clean sweep in the standing long jump winning with 2.19m from teammates Kayleigh Miller-Leslie (2.14) and Lauren Bamford (2.10) and she also took the speed bounce with 86 from Bamford (85).
Abigail won the two lap race in another clean sweep with 23.8 from Hamlyn (24.0) and Hester Hill (24.3) and Ashford also dominated the four lap race led by Abigail (49.7) from Caitlin (50.0) and Hester (50.6).
Katherine Buckley won the vertical jump from teammate Sophie Hamlyn and Katherine was also second in the six lap race behind a championship best from Holly Fletcher (B&B).
In the shot Lizzie Highwood was second with 7.74 with Ashford’s Kirsten Hooten third with 6.64 and in the standing triple jump Miller-Leslie was runner up with 6.18m from teammates Dock and Hill, both with 6.06.
Ashford’s Under 15 boys also were in tremendous form with clean sweeps in the vertical jump led by Nathaniel Fatola (74) from Tom Williams (66) and Temi Banwo (61) and in the two lap race with Fatola and Williams both clocking 21.6 and Banwo 22.6.
Tom Williams claimed two other wins taking the long jump from Fatola and there was the same result in the standing triple jump.
Tom Snare secured the gold in the shot with a huge 11.49m with Banwo third.
In the Under 13 girls Charlotte Dryland won the speed bounce with 82 from teammate Ciara Ewart on 80.
Ememobong Umoh was second in the vertical jump just in a close battle and was also third in the shot.
