IN the sportshall competition in Ramsgate, Ashford’s U13 team 1 girls won with good performances and personal bests from both teams.
The U13 boys won the team event as there were no other teams to compete against.
Lewis Chuch from Sevenoaks won the event, with AAC athletes in the next four places led by Ben Phillips in second, Ben Isaac 3rd, Kieran Regan 4th, Daniel Steadman 5th and Zac Shaikh 8th.
Ben Isaac also won athlete of the match T Shirt for his standing long jump of 2.22m.
On Saturday Kayleigh Miller-Leslie and Lauren Bamford took part in an indoor pentathlon competition, at the Lee Valley Athletics Centre where they came second and third respectively out of 22 competitors.
Kayleigh won the 60m hurdles in a personal best 9.9and also had a best in high jump with 1.41m.
Despite never having run an 800m race before she ran a splendid 1:55.6 to secure the silver medal.
Lauren was second in long jump with a pb of 4.43m and also had bests in shot 6.95m and hurdles 10.33, Lauren was sixth going into the last event, the 800m which she has competed well in previously.
She dug deep and ran a fantastic 2:42 almost catching the race leader on the line which carried her into the bronze medal position.
